I checked out what you did at Pipes.  Very cool.  Only one issue, during the transition, you lose the title, link, description for the incoming feed, and there&#039;s no way to get it back.

I have created a free service to accomplish exactly what you were looking for.  It converts Atom feeds into RSS feeds.
